Why is the Burgundy glass so unique? The wide seamless bowl of the glass aerates the wine, perfectly illuminating its subtle essence while the narrower opening draws the wine in a straight line to the palate for precise tasting. Every part of the Burgundy glass design accentuates the delicate nuances that are essential to appreciating higher acid, floral, elegant wines as the ration of exposure to air serves to "instantly" decant the wine. As with every Zalto glass, it is mouth-blown in the centuries old Venetian tradition by a small team of artisans. These few individuals have trained for years to acheive the level of skill required to make the Zalto Burgundy. It is the most difficult glass in the entire line to produce. Hence, each glass is a singular entity of perfection.
While the Zalto Burgundy glass is the clear choice for exceptional wines, it will elevate any wine it serves, all while making a statement at even the humblest of gatherings.
]]>Our warehouse is located in Connecticut, so you can assume faster transit times to the East Coast vs. the West Coast, as long as the weather cooperates. Typical transit to NYC is 1 day, for example. Typical transit time to larger cities in California is 4/5 days.
Please note that the below recommended order-by dates are our best suggestions and not a guarantee. Please note when checking out that the transit time is just that, the transit time. It does not include the processing time for our warehouse to prep your order. We typically ship within 48 hours, but during times of high volume, it can take an addition 1-2 days for us to get your package shipped out.
These are the dates by which we recommend you place your order. Please note that our warehouse is closed on weekends meaning orders placed Friday after 4PM EST thru Sunday night will not begin processing until Monday morning.
You know what always arrives on time? A Zalto gift card! You can even order one on Christmas morning and Santa will immediately put it under the tree.

Known as the Austrian "wine priest" (he was in fact a priest), Father Denk was inspired by the tilt of the Earth, and how using the Earth's angles in his design influenced the presentation of the wine. Famous for his incredible palate, he was relentless as he stretched the limits of form meeting function to create glass perfection.
This pursuit of crafting a perfect glass has only grown over time. Each piece of Zalto glassware is hand-blown by a team of artisans. What seems like a simple pile of sand when it goes into the furnace is taken out as molten glass which is then blown, pulled, and polished into its final form entirely by hand. Every detail has been refined, down to the shape of the lip of the glass. Each is its own work of art.
It takes years to achieve the ability to blow glass at such a high level, and few glassblowers with such expertise exist.
Some say imitation is the finest form of flattery. But sometimes imitation is just imitation. Zalto remains unequaled.
]]>1. Are the glasses really in stock? Or am I going to get a back-order notification 10 minutes after I hit the purchase button?
If it shows as in stock and you can put it in your cart and check out, it is absolutely in stock and we'll get to work processing your order.
2. This is a gift. Can I add a gift note?
Yes, you can add a gift note during checkout and it will be printed on the packing slip.
3. This is a gift. Will they see the price?
Nope! The packing slip just shows the order information and the gift note, if you added one.
4. Can I return or exchange my order?
Please refer to our Refund Policy page.
5. My tracking number doesn't show any movement. What's up with that?
It can sometimes take a day or two for a tracking number to go "live" after you receive your shipping notification. Check back on it later and you'll likely be happy with what you see.
6. My tracking number is showing as "in transit", but it doesn't make sense. Where's my package?
When you go to the UPS website and put in your tracking number, it will take you to a page that shows the 4 basics package statuses: label created, on the way, out for delivery, delivery. But you want to know more! On that same page, look for the option to "view details." Click on that. On the popup window, change from "shipment details" to "shipment progress." Here you will get to see exactly where your package is as it makes its way from our warehouse in Stratford, CT to you. It's kind of fun, actually.
7. Why was my package delivered to a UPS pickup point?
Sometimes, after making a delivery attempt, UPS will opt to leave your package at a local pickup point. This is their call and unfortunately we are not alerted when this happens.
8. Can I really put these in my dishwasher?
Yes, you can. For more details, please go to our Handling & Care page.
9. Are Zalto glasses unbreakable?
No.
10. Are they the best wine glasses known to man?
Yes.

Specifically, we are seeing a large number of packages that have apparently taken up residence at the USPS New Jersey Distribution hub. The bulk of these shipments are those that were ordered in the days before the Eastern seaboard was shut down due to the huge storm on December 18th. Somehow, shipments that went out the following week seem to have fared better- perhaps because they were routed around New Jersey.
There is some light at the end of the tunnel, though! As of today, we are finally seeing some of the tracking numbers update and packages moving on to distribution hubs closer to their final destination.
We thank you so very much for your patience, and we truly appreciate your business.
]]>Any ground orders placed today will not be shipped out until Monday, December 28th. This is due to the fact that Christmas lands on a Friday, and our warehouse is always closed on the weekends.
If you opt for Expedited (Next Day Air, etc.), we will do our best to ship your order out on the 24th, but we cannot guarantee it.
We are also still seeing delays with USPS scanning in tracking numbers. If your order shows as "In Transit - Delayed," then we can only tell you that packages have been getting scanned in at the last hub before delivery, and are in many cases being delivered within hours of the tracking number finally showing some movement.
We have done our best to get all orders turned around, packed up, and handed off to the couriers within the time-frame promised. After that.....
But seriously- Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns, and we will do what we can to make things right!
]]>We use UPS and UPSP as courier services. Both companies are experiencing higher than usual order volumes, reduced staff availability due to the pandemic, and extremely difficult road and working conditions due to severe weather.
According to the information we have received, in an effort to save time many packages are not scanned at origin or at each hub as they make their way to you. This means the packages might show as not shipped when tracked by their tracking number until they arrive at the destination hub, where they will be scanned prior to delivery.
Please be patient with UPS and USPS at these unprecedented times. Everyone is working very hard to get your order to you on time, but given the circumstances, both carriers had to suspend their service guarantees.
